what tiny connections is

tiny connections lets people who already know each other touch base, face to face, for one minute at a time over a video call.

it is run by Scott James Adams. by using the app you agree to these terms.

who can use it

you must be 18 or older.

a small world is a private group of friends or family. you join one only with a code from someone already in it. share codes only with people you would be happy to see on a call.

each small world has a host: to begin with, the person who made it. the host can rename it, change its invite code, remove someone from it, and hand the role to someone else in it. someone who is removed is not told.

how it works

when you tap “open”, the other people in that small world are told you are open. the first to tap gets a video call with you, and your phone rings. you stay open for 15 minutes, or until you close it or someone picks up.

a call lasts 60 seconds from when you are both connected, and then ends for both of you. either of you can leave sooner.

afterwards, everyone in that small world can see that the two of you connected, and roughly when: “today”, “yesterday”, “last week”. it fades after thirty days.

how to behave

be kind. calls are live conversations between real people.

there is no tolerance for harassment, threats, hateful or sexual behaviour, nudity, or anything illegal. do not record or photograph a call without the clear agreement of the other person.

do not pretend to be someone else, and do not use the app to advertise or sell.

blocking and reporting

you can block anyone. you will stop seeing each other open, and neither of you can pick up the other. it works straight away, and the person who runs the app is told that a block has been made.

you can report anyone. a report goes to the person who runs the app and blocks that person for you straight away. reports are looked at within 24 hours.

someone who breaks these terms can be removed from a small world or from the app, without notice.

your account

your account is a name and a coloured face on your phone. there is no password and no email, so it cannot be recovered if you delete the app or lose the phone.

you can delete your account at any time from the “you” screen. this removes your name, your face and your place in every small world.

what we do not promise

the app is provided as it is. calls depend on your connection and on services we do not control, so they will sometimes fail.

you are responsible for what you say and do on a call. to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for the behaviour of other people.

changes and contact

if these terms change in a way that matters, the app will tell you.
